Suzette J. DeJarnette LMHC – Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Suzette J. DeJarnette Licensed Mental Health CounselorSuzette is a licensed psychotherapist who has been working in the area of mental health services since the late 1960’s. She received her Master of Arts from the University of West Florida in Psychology. She worked with Psychiatric Associates and Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center for eleven years.She was employed by Bridgeway Center for 16 years as a psychotherapist and as Director of Outpatient Services She spent six years at the Cope Center as a psychotherapist, developed Beachside Counseling, and became Clinical Director/Sr.Vice President of Clinical Services. She was co-founder of the Okaloosa-Walton Domestic Violence Coordinating Council and orchestrated many sexual violence programs. In 1996, she was honored as Outstanding Mental Health Professional by the Mental Health Association, followed by the honor of Direct Service Provider of the Year by the Florida Council. Suzette enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families.

Julian Salinas, Ph.D. – Licensed Psychologist

Julian Salinas, Ph.D. Licensed PsychologistDr. Julian Salinas has over 15 years of clinical, consulting and administrative experience. He received his graduate education at the University of Houston. Dr. Salinas completed a pre-doctoral internship and postdoctoral residency at Fulton State Hospital in Missouri. Dr. Salinas holds licenses as a Psychologist in Florida, Missouri and Texas, is a member of the American Psychological and the Florida Psychological Associations and is a Registrant with the National Register for Health Services Providers in Psychology.  Being bilingual, Dr.Salinas can readily accommodate Spanish-speaking clients. Dr. Salinas’ specific interests include individual and group treatment, anxiety disorders, depression, substance abuse, forensics, severe and persistent mental illness and psychological evaluations with individuals aged 6 and older, in order to properly and thoroughly answer a variety of clinical questions about the individual.

Mr. Alioto –

Mr. AliotoMr.Alioto has been working as a counselor for over 25 years. After graduating from the University of Florida and graduate school at the University of Nebraska, he began his professional career at an inpatient treatment center for children in Atlanta, Georgia. Next he worked in an inpatient Substance Abuse and Eating Disorder Treatment Center, and later opened an Outpatient Center at the same facility. In 1986 he became licensed for Private Practice. Through much of his ca reer, Louis has engaged in additional training to diversify his skills and thereby be of service to a wide vartiety of people. In graduate school he conducted research on the benefits of group counseling for divorcing families. Post-graduate studies included an emphasis on marriage and family, group therapy, spirituality, and recovery from trauma and abuse. He has written several articles, and in 1995 presented a paper at the Second Annual Conference on Pesso-Boyden System Psychomotor Therapy.

In 1996 Louis moved to Panama City Beach and began practicing in Panama City. While getting his new practice established in Florida he ventured into the Hospitality Industry, operating a small beachfront motel for six years. He has owned a home in Walton County since 1989 and eventually migrated his practce to Santa Rosa Beach where he has been for over ten years now. In 2009 Mr. Alioto left Village Health Associates to join 30-A Therapy Associates and expand his practice with adolescents, families, and adults of all ages.

Nelson M. Handal, M.D., FAPA is the Founder, Chairman, and Medical Director for the Harmonex Corporation. As a practicing board certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, Dr. Handal has dedicated much of his career to developing and implementing technologies that elevate the quality of patient care. His vision for

CliniCom™ was born after many years of tireless work focused on perfecting a clinical model that uses technology, while implementing sensible, practical, and modern clinical practices.

In addition to having established a successful private practice and serving as Medical Director at a large inpatient psychiatric hospital, Dr. Handal participates in extensive clinical research and is a national consultant and speaker on his specific areas of expertise relating to child and adolescent psychiatry. He has been featured in Business Week as well as other national publications and is recognized as a key opinion leader in the area of child and adolescent psychiatry. In the late 1980s, Dr. Handal was president of one of the first telemedicine referral services in the world.

Awards include America’s Top Psychiatrists for 2008 and 2007 given by the Consumers’ Research Council of America. Dr. Handal has also received The Excellence in Public Mental Health Award for 2008 given by the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI). His private practice, Dothan Behavioral Medicine Clinic, has received the 2008 Best of Dothan Award in the Physicians category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA). Dr. Handal has also received the 2008 Patient’s Choice Award and the 2007 Mental Health Professional of the Year Award for Alabama. In 1996 Dr. Handal was presented with the Clinical Scholar Award conferred by the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Dr. Handal is also recognized as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Handal completed residency training in general psychiatry at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse in Syracuse, New York. After that, he completed his fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami. Dr. Handal is a member in good standing of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists.

Olga M. Garcia, Psy.D – Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Garcia obtained her M.E.D. in Special Education in 1979 and her M.E.D. in Counseling Psychology at Boston College in 1981. In 1987 she attended California State University in L.A. where she earned her School Psychology Credential.

Dr. Garcia worked with the California School District for 13 years as a Special Education Teacher, School Counselor and School Psychologist. In 1995, Dr. Garcia obtained her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the Carlos Albizu University. As part of her doctoral internship Dr. Garcia received special training and experience with post traumatic stress disorder victims and survivors of sexual abuse.

Upon moving to Florida Dr. Garcia worked at the Children’s Psychiatric Center in Miami from 1998 to 2000, providing psychological services to children, adolescents and adults.

In August 2000, Dr. Garcia joined The Child’s Psychology Associates practice in Miami, Florida, providing psychological services for children, adolescents and adults until March of 2009. From 2000 to 2008 Dr. Garcia was also on the medical staff at Baptist Hospital in Kendal, Florida providing inpatient psychological consults, crisis intervention in the E.R. and Psychological Services for the Pediatric Oncology Unit. She has completed all basic and advanced training in EMDR and Hypnosis.

Dr. Garcia moved to 30-A in the summer of 2009. It is her goal to continue to render services in a warm and professional environment to help every individual reach their full potential.
